It is important to us that you know what information we collect about you, and that you feel confident your privacy is protected.
All processing of personal data at Oppgjørskompetanse AS (OKOM) follows the privacy legislation in force at any time, including the GDPR and the Norwegian Personal Data Act. Below we explain how and why we collect data about users of our website, and what we use it for.
Controller and processor
OKOM acts both as controller and as processor, depending on the client's relationship with us. If you have bought or sold a home through one of our clients, we recommend contacting your estate agent.
OKOM's managing director has overall responsibility for the personal data we process. Day-to-day follow-up of our privacy compliance is delegated to OKOM's compliance officer.
Processing of personal data
- to carry out property settlements on behalf of estate agents, lawyers and other clients who have bought or sold property
- to market the firm's services (cookies when visiting the website)
- as part of the estate agency firm's control measures
How long do we keep your data?
Personal data is not kept longer than necessary for the purpose of the processing or our legal obligations. For example, the Real Estate Brokerage Regulations require us to keep all documents received or prepared in connection with each assignment for 10 years. We delete your personal data on request unless we are legally required or otherwise entitled to keep it.
Who can access your data?
We share personal data with public authorities to the extent necessary to meet our legal obligations, and with certain private parties where the Real Estate Brokerage Act requires it — for example your bank if there is a loan on the property (as seller) or if you are to have a mortgage on it (as buyer), or a managing agent, board chair or ground landlord where relevant.
Where is your data stored?
Personal data processed by OKOM is stored on servers in Norway and is not transferred outside the EU/EEA unless required to meet a legal obligation.
Your rights
You are entitled to access, rectification and erasure of incomplete or incorrect personal data, provided this does not conflict with the Real Estate Brokerage Act. Requests can be sent to vegar@okom.no or by post to Oppgjørskompetanse AS, Postboks 1747 Vika, 0121 Oslo. You may complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (post@datatilsynet.no).
Cookies
This website does not use cookies for tracking or marketing and has no third-party analytics. Information you submit through the contact form is only used to answer your enquiry. An invisible counter anonymously registers that the page has been opened, without cookies.
